Opportunity Project Golf Classic

Opportunity Project is getting ready for this year’s Golf Classic.  The event will be held on September 30, 2013 at the Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, NJ.  Co-Chairs of the event are Eileen Sudler, Sal Davino, Marshall Freidus, David Genova, Chris Johnson, Murray Kushner, Ted Stamopoulos and Marc Berson.  The day will include a golf scramble, tournament, prizes, cocktails and a dinner reception.  A live auction and raffle featuring unique prizes from the Late Night Show with David Letterman, Hilton Short Hills, Rao’s and New York Jets will also be held to benefit the program.

website - Darrell Terry (300x200)Brain injury is a lifelong injury.  75% of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) that occur annually are concussions or other mild forms of TBI.  Did you know that every year, there are up to 3.8 million sports-related concussions in the United states?  Among 15-24 year olds, sports are the 2nd leading cause of TBI.

Opportunity Project is proud to provide vocational services to members who have sustained a concussion-related brain injury, as well as, awareness initiatives for our local community and schools in hopes of preventing such life-changing injuries.  It is estimated that 12,000-15,0000 NJ website brunch (300x200)residents suffer brain injuries from traumatic events each year, of which 1,000 are fatal.  Prevention is the only cure.  To help promote prevention, we will be holding a helmet drive at this year’s golf classic.  Please bring a new or gently used helmet with you to the golf classic.

The funds raised from the golf classic will enable OP to continue its work on behalf of individuals with brain injury.
