The Millburn Police Department accepted the challenge made by the Millburn Fire Department to determine the BEST CHEF in a slider Cook-off. The Battle of the Badges Cook-off takes place on Friday, April 27, 6:00 p.m., at the Millburn Fire Department, 459 Essex St.

This fundraiser, sponsored by U.S. Trust Bank of American Private Wealth Management and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will support the programs and services of Opportunity Project, a program created by and for people with brain injuries who are seeking the next step in their journey to recovery.

The Battle of the Badges Cook-off judges panel will include Millburn Mayor Cheryl H. Burstein and members of the Opportunity Project Clubhouse. The community is invited to stop in, taste the results for themselves and cast their vote. For those who don’t want to choose the best SLIDER, there will be a family-friendly dinner buffet with something for every taste, including macaroni & cheese, salads and desserts.

This family friendly event will include entertainment by So I Heard Music in Millburn and crayons and coloring books to keep the children entertained. There will also be door prizes and a raffle.

Cost is $25 per person, $10 for children 6-12 (and free for children under 5). Tickets must be purchased in advance. All proceeds will support the Opportunity Project Clubhouse.

Select brain injury awareness, then Cook-off.
