Opportunity Project is getting ready for this year’s Annual Golf Classic. The event will be held on September 23, 2019 at the Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, NJ. Co-Chairs of the event are Jacob S. Buurma, Sal Davino, Marshall Freidus, Chris Johnson, Murray Kushner, Jared Levine, Jonathan Sobel, Eileen Sudler and Marc E. Berson.

The day will include a golf scramble, tournament, prizes, cocktails and a dinner buffet. The evening will also feature a silent auction and raffle with unique prizes from Rao’s and the U.S. Open.

This year we celebrate our 25th anniversary of providing programs and services to people who have sustained a brain injury and their families, as well as providing local, regional and national awareness initiatives for communities, schools and corporations. Brain injury is a lifelong injury. Unfortunately, it remains the leading cause of death and disability in America’s children and adults ages 1 to 44. Prevention is the only cure.

More than 5 million people in the U.S. live with the after-effects of brain injury. The emotional and physical challenges after brain injury make it difficult for survivors to reintegrate into daily life. Opportunity Project continues to assist our members to achieve a quality of life that fulfills their hopes and dreams, in an environment that promotes empowerment and a feeling of belonging.  Members are succeeding in achieving independence by practicing community reintegration skills and everyday tasks with an Occupational Therapist; by reaching their nutritional and wellness goals through weight loss plans and nutrition education in our Nutrition Program; and by obtaining pre-vocational and paid employment success in our Vocational Program that collaborates with over 70 agencies including Investors Bank, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Kean University.

Opportunity Project has grown from a 1 day a week program in 1994 with 15-20 members to a 5 day a week program in our own beautiful Clubhouse, serving over 600 members and their families. We turn no one away, yet we receive little public funding.

Your support will enable OP to continue its work on behalf of individuals with brain injury.
