Opportunity Project is getting ready for this year’s Annual Golf Classic. The event will be held on September 21, 2020 at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, NJ.  Co-Chairs of the event are Jacob S. Buurma, Sal Davino, Chris Johnson, Murray Kushner, Jared Levine, Warren E. Moore, Jonathan Sobel, Eileen Sudler, and Marc E. Berson.

We hope to see you in person for an enjoyable day which will include a golf scramble, tournament, prizes, cocktails and a dinner buffet. An Auction and raffle featuring unique prizes like New York Giants and U.S. Open tickets will also be held to benefit the program.

Our mission remains stronger than ever, having seamlessly transitioned the Clubhouse programs and services into a successful, fully functioning remote program due to the global health crisis. This year we celebrate our 26th anniversary of providing programs and services to people who have sustained a brain injury and their families, as well as providing local, regional and national awareness initiatives for communities, schools and corporations. Brain injury is a lifelong injury. Unfortunately, it remains the leading cause of death and disability in America’s children and adults ages 1 to 44. Prevention is the only cure.

More than 5 million people in the U.S. live with the after-effects of brain injury. The Opportunity Project Clubhouse is and always has been a pioneer in the brain injury field offering stellar programs and services, a universally accessible state-of-the-art facility and highly dedicated and qualified staff. We provide survivors of brain injury with opportunities to build cognitive skills, vocational skills, self-esteem and confidence in their ability to accomplish productive activities and to lead fulfilling lives – and have continued to do so throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic. Feelings of loneliness and anxiety are typical for those living with brain injury and ensuring our Members continue to have access to vital resources is critical throughout this pandemic. Members are continuing to achieve independence at home and to reach individual goals by participating in online programs, gaining new technological skills through the use of phone and video conferencing and by engaging in our social media platforms. They are meeting wellness goals through nutrition education and cooking groups with our Nutrition Counselor and successfully navigating vocational challenges with Vocational Program Counselors.

Opportunity Project has grown from a 1 day a week program in 1994 with 15-20 members to a 5 day a week program in our own beautiful Clubhouse, serving over 625 Members and their families. We turn no one away, yet we receive little public funding.

Your support will enable OP to continue its work on behalf of individuals with brain injury.
