Opportunity Project is a unique program that offers opportunities for persons with a brain injury to explore their strengths and abilities, develop their confidence and self esteem, and to resume their pre-injury meaningful and productive lives.
The affects of brain injury are traumatic and catastrophic. Every aspect of a person’s life is affected: the social, emotional, physical and vocational. The challenges that a person with a brain injury needs to overcome are overwhelming and their struggle to regain a direction, purpose and meaning to their lives can be lifelong.
The focus of the vocational program at Opportunity Project is to prepare our members to re-enter the work force. Detailed career/job information along with successful interviewing strategies and proficient resume writing skills training are provided by the vocational counselors to ensure employment success.
Members are introduced to the demands, pace, and routine of real life competitive employment by participating in job samplings at various sites within the community.
Members, through their determination and optimistic outlook, along with the support and guidance of Opportunity Project’s vocational counselors, are actualizing their dreams of meaningful and competitive employment. Please read their stories.
